Its worth the drive, they are super nice and have all kinds of great birds. I occasion when my ducks are laying well, I got pick up half dz duck eggs for my husband from them. Just watch out for their chinese geese, they wonder about and will give ya a fright if you don't see 'em coming. I love bring my daughter up there.

Rain stopped grass cutting today but I saw the most wonderful thing. I changed the water for Sheba and the chicks also giving them fresh food.... She called them out from under her and led them to the water and feeder and showed them where to eat...... Yes, it was a very moving moment......

So DH goes in early just so he can get some work done and what do you think happens? RAIN!! Curse you rain!! We did manage to get one of the sides/top portions started before the rain cut us out. On a happy note: I did rescue a toad from getting stuck/trapped under the HWC. Not to mention I saved him from getting pecked at once the boys & girls are out.

I have a thing for frogs and toads are the next best thing (thus my pic)!! haha

Homesteader

Yeah, I hear you. I had planned to work on the coop this week, but lets see, Tornadoes on Saturday killed power till Monday. Tuesday the hubby was gone most of the day for a doctor's appointment (I hate his doctor, he is always waiting for an hour or more after the appointment time to just get to the first part of the appointments) and then we were supposed to interview someone for my daughter who never showed. Wednesday was full of appointments for the kids. I got some work done on Thursday, but babysitter fell through at the last minute so I had no help from the hubby doing this work. Today, during the kids nap it had to rain. Can't work on it tommorrow cause my mom has to have all my tools back so her people can work on her remodeling house (after she said they weren't going to because of the Holiday). I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to get it done before the birds outgrow the brooder!

We'll get it all done eventually, but yeah, it sucks sometimes.
