Hello all,

I have a broody.

don't know which. She is my first Frizzle cochin to start laying. I gave her 4 eggs last night to sit on and they were still warm this morning whenI went out to feed. She eats and drinks in the morning and was right back on the eggs. the bad part is she won't set in the laying box and is on the floor of the coop. I managed to gets some shaving under the eggs this morning and will try to get some hay under the sahvings tonight to cushion the eggs from the hard floor.

need to get a picture, but first need batteries in my camera

hello everyone,
I posted in the wanted to buy section, but wanted to ask here as well to see if anyone had an egg turner available for a hovabator 1602n. I am north of raleigh and could possibly meet in raleigh, durham, chapel hill, granville county, franklin county, or vance county. please send me a pm if you have one. Thank you so much!

So if I need a bachelor coop .

But I do have a question , in your experence if you have a flock like I have that was hatch together - and has always been together and never showed any problem between the boys - can sometime roos live together with fighting ? Speaking about my Silkies mostly although I have a few Buff Orps that are roos . ( I want the 2 breeds seprated before they get much older )

Also if I am forced ( I say this like I am the one ) .... I will make the DH take the roos to the vet ( or at least tell me he has ) ..

happy day all

I don't think there are many breeds of chickens that won't fight when they get old enough Allison. But I bet sandy could tell you about Silky roos. but I have 2 roos and at least 12 hens apiece for them and they have had their times but so far nothing serious. and they sleep in the same coop. it probably depends alot on the breed. I have read on BYC about people that have a bachloer coop for their extra roos.
