Yay for all the broodies BHep!! Also
for the duck eggs in lockdown!! Can't wait to see photos of all that you manage to hatch!! I'm sorry to admit
but the broody pigeons just crack me up.
I can't help myself!!
me if you wish!!
Getting the barn ready for a few more girls...we're in the process of making plans to add 4 more girls to our flock. Tried to convince DH to build a whole new coop, this one for ducks and peacocks and such, but no luck...for now!!
I think he's really leaning toward fencing in our whole property so we can free range the chickens (which is fine with me...that means I can have even MORE!!) We had our neighbor stop by last night to check on our chickens since he watched them.
Gavin - he complimented us on beautiful chickens so I am passing that compliment along to you!! I will admit to being HORRIFIED when DH took him over to see our garden!! The man is a farmer and he takes him over to see my WEED patch.
DH did ask him for gardening tips (seeing how his personal garden is "only" 300'x300')...he told us to use weed killer and I said can't...DD eats the dirt and grass!! So he suggested a few ways for us to work on ridding the area of the grass (hint: when mowing do NOT mow the cut grass into your garden...
) sadly though...I think we are going to have to scrap this garden and try again.
He did offer us some Blueberry Bushes and Grape Vines though...so I thought that was sweet.
He is such a nice neighbor!! Although...he did bring his MUTT with him....
But to his credit, he was holding it and didn't let it down, so that made me happy. DD is still afraid of it though! GOOD GIRL!!
I do hope those of you who need rain get it. We can always use it...okay, our WELL can always use it!! hehe
I don't know what happened but somehow I ended up with a cold. It's summer...HOW can I have a cold? Bah!! I'm off to do laundry and stuff nappies. Sorry about my scatterbrained post!!
Have a great day everyone!!
