What sale are you guys talking about? Does anyone go to the Wicked Chicken auction? I am new to chickens, but all of mine have come from there, therefore, I have 9 chickens whose breeds I am mostly unsure of..I have pictures, though, so when I'm not too new to post them, maybe I can be enlightened! I am still holding out for most of mine to start laying, even though I think they are going on somewhere around 26-30 weeks old..

In fact, I only have one little black hen that lays with some regularity. I got a blue/green egg once from one of my auction hens about 6 weeks ago, then nothing since from her.

I also have one goose alarm that I recently acquired.

Sounds like everyone is having a good morning! I am jealous of those who get woken up by their roo. I'm usually the one who wakes HIM up!! I guess that's what happens when your alarm goes off at 5:16 in the AM.

to all the new members. I second NH's comment. I've learned so much from here DH calls me the Chicken Whisperer.. HA HA!!

I see that there is going to be a poultry show at the NC state fair. I think it is in October.
Would this be a good place to try to obtain high quility large fowl chickens, or put in an order chicks in the early spring?

Big shows like that the birds stay for too long, come along to some of the smaller shows and meet us all and we will help you out as muchas we can........

Not sure how many days it had been collected before I got it, so it could have been 3 or 4 days old by then.........
