I built a coop with the nesting box inside. The girls have outsmarted me thought. Phyllis is broody and is laying and setting under the nesting box, where I have lay down in the coop to reach the darn eggs. UGH.

So, I am thinking of building a new box outside the coop I have. I could connect the two, but it would be so much easier to collect eggs.

Anyone have any ideas of something easy I could build that would still look good?

Conan was ready early today... Think he heard me yelling at the clouds. No eclipse here. Woke up super excited and ready to brave the cold....ah well, maybe next time. Pictures were Spectacular though!

Good news on the Feeder Insects! Got a batch started today and they will be breeding in no time. Spring meat!!! Tested a few Superworms in the coop today...They were a definite Super HIT. Cant wait to start sharing.

I might have discovered an issue with a coop I help with. There are 10 Guineas and 6 chickens ( 5 are roo's and 1 lil hen). The guineas are tormenting the heck out of the the Roo's. They seem to keep all the ground space in the run as there own, letting the chickens perch or stay in the coop. They weirdly wont pester them at the food. But it is truly a Gang affair. We were hoping to wait till spring to try and let the guineas free range. Think i might be putting up a temp coop with run... Not really the time of year for this to be happening, but no one deserves to be bullied!

I don't have Guineas but my friend does and she said hers bullied her chickens so bad she had to kick them out of the coop. They have their own little coop beside the chickens coop and run but they free range during the day,

Good morning all, well it's spring and 47 degrees this morning, LOL! hope everyone is great today. We still have snow pilled up but hopefully today some more will melt before this weekend when theres more a coming. Suppose to be cold again next week. Oh now that winter is finally here Spring can't be far behind. I keep telling myself

Heatwave for sure! No light on is awesome! Mixed a few more worms in with the chicken salad, they got all the worms without even touching the greens...Well almost but they were excited to see movement! I'd say the Superworms are a HOT 'n READY doughnut for chickens " Wink wink, they are good for them too". And on that note, have a great day.

wonder if they carry them at petsmart it's only 45 miles from me instead of 60. Anyway keep us up to date on how its going looks like your birds have hit the jackpot!
