Oh you both sew!!??

My husband bought be a machine for my birthday last year when I decided I wanted to learn. I've only made a few things, but it's very exciting!! I'm sort of trying to learn on my own since I don't know anyone personally who sews..

I also have trouble reading patterns, so I tend to "wing it"..NewHomesteader, maybe you'll let me shadow you some time! What kinds of things do you make?

I have a very basic singer model and it gives me some trouble...I wonder if a nicer one would be better, but hate to spend more money until I really get this one down. Now that it's gettign cooler, i hope I'll spend more time sewing since my husband built me a great giant sewing table in my basement!

NH- If my car was functional I would take you up on that pie offer! I

baking! As long as it doesn't stay in my house I am fantastic! I make stuff to drop on other peoples doorsteps all the time. Having an allergy involved I can now understand the extra tread to the feed store. I would do the same for my family!
My friend is about an hour from me. I see her maybe once a week. Once my car is back on the road

(hopefully next week!) I can see her far more often than that! She watches a young boy around my sons age.. the two of them have tons of fun together! But she isn't really "close by"

Is anything in this state?

I call my mom up with questions with the crochet thing all the time and trying to explain it over the phone is a royal pain. Its gotten to the point where I say I found this pattern at this website.. can you help me by reading over the pattern? Idiot proof it for me?

doesn't work.

dont be envious of me! Believe me! I spend a LOT of time alone with nothing to do. I have been home bound since Sunday night cause the DH took the car to DC for a military related convention. Expecting him home tonight

If it weren't for the rain I wouldn't have minded not having a functional car... but this rain is driving me bonkers!

Can't go outside, nothing to do inside.. Feel as though all I have been doing for 2 days is cleaning, eating and coloring

Off to clean up their room. Lots of dust and some mopping. Please know....that I have plastic shower curtains all over the floor and they are washed every other day and they "live" in play pens. Don't want anyone to think I am that CRaZyyyyyy.....

Perfect! What surprised me is that some things are SO simple to make and you feel so productive. The other thing is that I was amazed at just how much great fabric exists! I get some at Joanne's (always find the coupon), and some on eBay..People compliment me on things I make, but I know it has more to do with the unique fabric I find than the actual item.

Here are some of the things I have made. I know they are simple, and NEVER tell my husband this picture exists, since he was nice enough to let me make he and my son matching pajama pants.

Ruth, are you driving to Cary for chicken feed for a reason? I know for a fact there are closer feed stores. There is even one I told you about off of hwy 42 in Willow springs on your way to our neck of the woods. That should only be an hour?! - I hope your hubby comes home soon.... you're doing an awesome job juggling everything. SUPER MAMA!

I am going to Cary today too actually, thankfully that's only 45 minutes for me. Poor little Zoe bean though... she has to go see her dentist today. Its her first visit and she's PANICKING so badly?! I don't know why, I've never told her about anything bad the dentist does. Would not DARE mention a 'drill' or such. I'm sure she'll be just fine after we get there. She's always so brave, so I don't know why this is bothering her.

She was the BEST when we took her to the hospital for her eye last year. Several doctors and nurses came in to see her because they heard how incredibly well behaved and brave she was, they couldn't believe they had to put this burny stuff in her eye that would make adults act like babies and she just laid there and took it. We left the hospital with 2 ice cream pops the doctors wanted her to have, and she had to stop at the nurses station to hand out hugs. It was an amazingly stress free trip! lol

Anyways, wish me luck... because I'm usually the only one who's nervous and overreacts! (Just ask the hubby! LOL)

but for now... I have found myself wasting time online in search of ways for us to cut our monthly bills. Found some cool sites in the progress I will come back and share with your guys later. INCLUDING SOME FREE STUFF!! Love it!
