Have a great day at the fair everyone!! Starting off to be a cool day, hope it stays nice for everyone!! Enjoy a Hot Chocolate on my behalf, someone...with LOTS of whip cream and the works....

OOhh...be sure to take LOTS of photos for us!! We will miss you!!

Today....I drop my sewing machine off for it to be worked on.

Turn around is two weeks!! DH is AMAZING!! He said, "why don't we stop by JoAnn's or Walmart and see if they have a small machine that you could buy to get you by until yours is fixed. Then we can always give it to DD when she's old enough to use it?!"

I have the BEST husband. Saw that JoAnn's has a $20 sewing machine that literally only does straight & zig zag stitches, but it will help me to get some outfits made and quit patches sewn while waiting to do my embroidery and more "advanced" stuff.

I can justify spending $20 on a machine, especially if it will be the first one DD uses (then I don't have to let her play around with my $10,000 machine - again...wedding present from daddy....it was my bonus for having a super "cheap" wedding!!)

Found out that my one girl: Jemimah Puddleduck is laying in the woods. I heard her egg song yesterday and looked out (hoping she followed Tabitha into the nesting box) to see the roos running into the woods. A few moments later, she was escorted out by both boys and all 3 of them were hollering away. DH and I are going to search the woods later on today to see where her nest might be. She will remain locked up while the others are out, until she learns to return to her nest!!

Silly alpha female!! At least I know it's not a laying freeze!!

Sounds like that would have been a nice place to show up with biscotti, jam and coffee... morning sales always do well for me!!!

I used to do the Ava Gardner Festival in Smithfield and I'd serve coffee & biscotti. This year I didn't do it, not enough time to get ready. Even the museum bought all our biscotti that was prepackage and left at the end of the festival and they sold it that week to visitors who came in. It was a great deal... I always sold out!

Hubby is taking DD to the Corn Maze in Cary. Since he can't goto the Fair with all the hours he works... he got today off (after a lot of issues) and is planning on have some fun today and not just sitting around.

I wish I could go, it looks fun.

So, we've just been out picked green for the girls and harvested our first home grown sweet potatoes.... They look good....

Just want to say I'm sleepy and losing my mind to be on here at 4:30 in the morning... I have NOT gone to bed yet. I ended up with a serious virus attack and my computer was on its way down a deep black hole!

But I'm managing...

... I just keeping thinking, when is it all just going to end?!!?

Had a fun day at the fair yesterday. Didn't get to see everything, it was crowded. . Met up with coopscoop & ramerizframing.

Lost 5 young birds last night

They were smothered. I HAVE a 60 watt reptile heat light on at night for them. They obviously huddled in the opposite corner, since that is where I found them squished.

WHY are they so DUMB.

I don't even think it was that cold last night...in the mid 40s. IDK
I am just sickened.

Another busy & fun day ahead. Bible class, Church & Pastor Appreciation day. We are having a pig roast. Should be lots of fun.

Morning peeps!!

Everyone staying warm, I woke up to a slight chill today, I think fall is finally here.

Getting ready for the poultry swap at TSC next Saturday, have a friend with several things available if anyone is looking. She has Japanese Bantams - 2 mottled hens & 1 barred cockerel, Sliver Seabrights - 2 hens & 3 roosters, Serama's - 3 young roosters, Lavender orpingtons - 2 pairs & 2 extra cockerels.

On another note my trio bantam Lav Ameraucana's went to a new home yesterday!

Now only a few more looking for homes before winter.
