North Carolina

Morning all! I hope everyone has a great day!

I think I'm going to have to do some "re-decorating" in my coop. The rooster AND 3 young hens like to sleep all cuddled up in the NESTING BOX. Last night I made them mad because I went in there and put them all on the roosting pole when it was dark and they had to stay. LOL

The one hen I have that is actually laying right now refuses to lay in a poopy nesting box so I have NO idea where her eggs are ending up. UGH

So while that is on the "list" and I hope to get to it this busy Sunday.....I have to go doctor my sister's mini donkey, ride my horse, then go to WallyWorld, then spend the afternoon making bread, buttermilk pie, and hopefully honey butter, before heading to bday dinner tonight with the family.

SCM, that is such a cute pic!

Good morning everyone!!

Great job SCM & BHep for giving that old bread machine a work out!! I use mine daily and I am currently on my 3rd machine!!

BHep - If your kids liked the banana bread, I have a KILLER recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread (with or without raisins/nuts)!! It uses the dough cycle in the bread machine and you have to finish cooking it in the oven, but not only is it heavenly, but the house fills with an amazing aroma!! I make everything from bread to hamburger/hot dog buns in my bread machine...I CAN'T live without it. LOL, okay, I probably could if I HAD to.

I prefer using mine just for the dough cycle and finishing cooking in the oven - I have found you can get (usually) 2 loaves out of the dough or one extra large loaf rather than the smaller compacted one in the machine! It tends to be a bit more frugal!!

I vote for a recipe swap!!

Just had company leave, so we are relaxing a little bit before church!! I never knew how...excitable a 4 year old can be compared to my docile little one!!

Guess now I have a glimpse of what is coming!! On a fun note for our special dinner, I made BBQ Spare Ribs, Baked potato bar, salad and steamed green beans (there were a few pieces of BBQ chicken for those of us that don't eat pork!!) and for dessert it was a chocolate cordial torte!!

I think I have one happy - food induced coma baby at the moment!!

Oh boy! Sounds good! I haven't fallen in love with any of the cinnamon swirl recipes I've tried so far so I'll give that a shot!

Bhep - don't forget PIZZA DOUGH!!! We do homemade pizzas all the time. So quick and easy! We hate the cheapo pizza places but the good ones are so darn expensive! Homemade is now our favorite way to go!

ML - for my machine you put the liquid ingredients in first plus salt, then flour on top, make a crater and put the yeast in the middle. Especially if you preset it at night like I do for most breads so you can wake up to yummy aromas!!

DoubleA - YUMMMMMMY!

OH, NH - I'm also still testing out millions of dinner roll recipes and haven't found one of those I'm in love with yet. Do you have a favorite???
