Hi All,
I'm new here and Just getting started at raising my backyard chickens here in Wilmington. Coop and run almost done! I am thinking of ordering my chicken from Murray McMurray, but must order a lot of 15 minimum. I can only keep 6-8. Anyone out there interested in ordering with me?

Good Late Morning everyone!! I must say I have been thoroughly enjoying all this talk about snow!! I needed to run a few errands today and everyone has been like, "OH, you'd better hurry up and get it done before the snow comes." LOL... I forget that Southerners don't handle snow well! Those of us who are Yankee transplants know what REAL snow is!!

All joking askide, is there anything I need to do for my biddies? They are ~2 months old (Thank you Beth for the "birth date") and in a juvi pen by themselves. Do I need to get a heat lamp for them IF it does snow, or would they be alright? This is my first "cold spell" with babies that aren't under a momma!!

I will say, I do hope if we get snow that it stays at least long enough for us to dry out BEFORE turning us into slush again. Our run is nothing but a mud pit, and our poor white maran is...well...NOT white anymore!! The only ones enjoying this mess...the ducks!! LOL. Now if only I could get the ducks to keep their poo off the deck steps... LOL
