Me...bringing chicks...and chicks. maybe some eggs. LOL

Hey Ashley! Thank you for the welcome :) All is well over in Belews Creek. Busy hatching in January because graduate school starts back next week! Once that starts, I will have my nose in the books til May. Won't have as much time to dote on the eggs and incubators.

I definitely want more guineas this year. I'm watching closely for mine to lay but I think its a bit early. Let me know when you have some keets available. I don't think the 15 that we have left will be able to keep up with the ticks. I need at least 30 to cover the property.

Let me know if you are coming to the poultry show in Winston Salem at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds - I think I'm going to go to it.

When is the W-S poultry show?

I finally got my baby chicks. They were in transit for about two days as I got them through the mail. All of the chicks are very happy and healthy except for one. When we opened the box we saw that she does not stand, eyes were not open, her breathing was labored and the other chicks were pecking at her. We immediately set up a separate box, a heat bulb to maintain her at 95 degrees, and made sure she took a few drinks of water and tried to get her to eat something -- but wouldn't take anything. Eventually she had a couple of gulps of yogurt. She has not moved around at all under her own power.

I know this isn't much to go on, but is there any general care? I'm going to get some electrolytes in her but other than that, am not sure what it might be. All your suggestions are appreciated!
