I finally got my baby chicks. They were in transit for about two days as I got them through the mail. All of the chicks are very happy and healthy except for one. When we opened the box we saw that she does not stand, eyes were not open, her breathing was labored and the other chicks were pecking at her. We immediately set up a separate box, a heat bulb to maintain her at 95 degrees, and made sure she took a few drinks of water and tried to get her to eat something -- but wouldn't take anything. Eventually she had a couple of gulps of yogurt. She has not moved around at all under her own power.
I know this isn't much to go on, but is there any general care? I'm going to get some electrolytes in her but other than that, am not sure what it might be. All your suggestions are appreciated!
Sounds like you have done all you can. Sorry, but I would not expect it to make it. Once they go down in the shipping boxes they get stomped alot and that can do terminal internal damage.
