I think a breakfast casserole is appropriate, and perfectly fine! I think people would enjoy it. Use those eggs.

What eggs?? LOL I'm getting ZERO eggs right now!! Still..thanks for the support!!

SO glad I locked up chickens today (for a week at least...right?!?)...Saw two HUGE hawks flying overhead, circling...looking...hunting... all they had available were a bunch of guineas and they were not coming down here for them!! I had just given the biddies some treats so they were happily pecking away at the ground and the 2 escapees were not out and about. Been keeping track of them to make sure they stay IN their pen now that I've seen these 2 hawks!!

It's cold...windy...and blah outside. I haven't done anything at all except run to the store to pick up a few items for my casserole and feed/water chickens/ducks/guineas. Now to come up with an idea for supper when food does NOT sound/look/smell appealing. I wonder if I can convince DH to cook tonight...LOL

ust found one of my chickens, my first bantam orp, missing all the 'meat' on her neck and her back was chewed up.
Any ideas what did this? . I forgot to lock up

I just pulled in the back yard with a load of shavings. 30 or so birds just ran up under my truck as close to the motor as they could get. At least they did wait till I stopped.

I know how that feels. I've managed to do it twice recently, losing 27 birds the first tome to foxes and 18 the second time to dogs. It could have been just about anything that grabbed her that she got away from.

I wanted to let you know that Mrs. Emadine has just been re-homed. She is now in Fayetteville. I told you that she would stay here until someone wanted a pretty bird like her, and the woman's daughter fell in love with her as soon as she laid eyes on her.

Cold here this morning 20 now-I get to carry water this morning I got to carry some late yesterday afternoon. I drained all the water lines too early and all the birds wanted a drink b4 they went to roost

Good Morning Happy Chicken folks!!
Busy day on tap for us here...going to get some seeds started while DH finishes up with the greenhouse. Later on we will be delivering our casserole and finishing the day off with prepping the garden for the dirt to be delivered (this includes hauling trees to "build" a border. Chickens are staying LOCKED UP until they produce at least ONE EGG!! LOL
