Well I found my two does late last night, and they are now happily in back in their pens. I brought my buck with me over to the nieghbors and after a very long talk, they rembursed me for the dead bunny and offered to fix my broken coop. They promised to lock up the dog and they kept their word, I can see up th the house and the dog is now on a very large runner cable, they promised they would have a fenced in an area next month

hoping they stick to it.

Hollow- thanks for the offer on the buck, but I breed netherland dwarfs and lionheads. But down the road I'd love to talk meat rabbits with you, as I'm hoping to get into breeding them later this year or next.

I have never been able to bring myself to shoot a dog, unless it is being outwardly aggressive to me. I will shot at one, to scare it away, but usually work with animal control to catch the dogs, or just go straight to the owners.
Good job on the dog!

On the rabbits...I have a friend who was looking for a lionhead. I can't remember if it was buck or doe, and I don't know if she found one, but I'll check. She's going to visit in May.

I tried seeds one year, but they never did well.  Any suggestions?

Whether my experiment works or not, I will share the details... bought a seed flat, filled to level with seed starting potting soil... soaked the soil with hot water and drained excess... placed seeds at desired depth, placed 5" wood dowels at 4 corners. Placed seedling flat in a cooler with lid removed... placed cling wrap over flat... placed a infrared heat lamp to one side (use a thermometer to adjust lamp to achieve a 70-80° reading)... I should have seeds sprouting soon...

Does anyone on here do any beekeeping? Got my first queen coming next week!

First year complete... 2 hives... bees survived the winter... wouldn't call myself a beekeeper yet... more of a bee haver.. pulled 2 medium frames and ended up with 6 pints of honey... left 4 for the hive covering my garden

Guess I read your post too quickly or maybe it was just a long day at work - thought you said "bookkeeping" and didn't understand the "queen coming next week" statement.

Didn't get much done due to the rain and needed to take care of some work things today too.. But i got some reinforcing done and got the door cut.. the plan is to raise it 18" off the ground and ad a 6'x42" run. I think I am going to try a green roof over the run as well but who knows. Trying to make this almost for free!

I know a young lady who has a new litter of lionheads.
Bet she would be selling youngsters soon if anyone is
looking for one
