I will not be making it. I still have the FLU and am finally making progress. Still have fluid in my lungs and the dander in the building would kill me. I also will not take the chance of getting my friends sick with this stuff. I have been out flat for 10 days.

Oh! So sorry! I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the encouragement - TarheelBirdy.  Just moved to this home last October and trying to keep up on all the landscaping the former owners took pride in.  Now I've added to my work by bringing in chickens - what was I thinking:)  I do feel a lot more informed since here at BYC.  Hoping it all just starts flowing together and not too overwhelming.

Changed the chicks bedding this past weekend from wood shavings to sand (could only find play sand for now).  Found a cool sifter tool in the kitchen section at Wal-mart.  Need to find a small-combed rake to gather the droppings in one section better.  A work in progress.

The girls are getting bigger and more social each day.  They no longer run to the far end of the pen when I come by.  Guess they know where the treats come from:)  Have only tried spinach leaves and broccoli so far.  They aren't much for broccoli but love love love spinach.  I hold onto the leaves as long as I can as they nibble it down.

Loving the sunshine today.  Here we will be getting rain tomorrow and Friday (of course on my day off).
Enjoy your day everyone!

My husband and I also work a 4 10s schedule so you're not alone at all! Our flock is small compared to a lot of the other member's on here but they are full of great advice and info! You're close to me! Where do you work??

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday night. I got a significant amount of work done on the chicken coop today. I was out there till well after dark trying to finish up. I need some eye hooks to make sure door cannot be opened and then I will be done. Whooosh!

I got to start the run next. Letting the Cornish X out to the coop tomorrow and keeping the girls (layers) in for a few more days on the back porch while it is still cold.

I am seriously thinking I am now addicted to this website.

Good morning folks

Good Morning Happy Chicken People!

I'll be working the thirty-minute-plan today. I have lots of grading to do, lots of housework to do, and a couple things I want to do. Hubby comes back from his business trip today. A friend informed me yesterday that she is bringing someone to my house to meet me tomorrow, because she's another fiber artist. Yeah...it's my hobby. She gives seminars across the country. She's way out of my league, and it's going to be awkward. Plus, I have chickens in my workroom these days, so no loom is set up!

It'll be interesting, anyway, and make me clean my house, but golly....I'll have to push to get the grading done by Monday! At least if it's raining today I won't be distracted by outdoor cravings.

Enjoy your day!

hope you have fun Meg playing with fiber, I'm sure they can understand the cute chickies
