North Carolina

Good morning! Got a few minutes to myself and wanted to check in and say hello, and get caught up, before I get back outside and take advantage of some rare GOOD WEATHER. Hope everyone is doing well today.

I have a brooder full! Swedish Flower Hen babies, SLW babies, Blk Australorp babies, and one gigantor Ameraucana! They are so sweet.

I am getting in the Easter spirit and have started an Easter Special on my Swedish Flower Hen eggs. I am selling them for $15 for 6 eggs for Easter hatching!

Woke up to the neighbor driving down our driveway honking - the horses were out and were all the way up IN THE ROAD. We threw on clothes and caught them and tied those jokers up. The ground has been so wet that they are able to lean on the fence and simply lay the posts down enough to get over it. This is the second time this week. So we will spend the better part of the day teaching the 2 yr old granddaughter the fine art of fence repair. DH has made a run to Burlington to get some sac-crete and to pick her up right now.

DH took me out to dinner last night, it was so nice to get out and have a good time and spend time together.

Well, gotta go. I've got seeds to start, brooder to clean, incubators to stalk, laundry detergent to make, horses to beat (lol), fences to fix, and chickens to feed. Have a great day!
I hate when that happens to our horse. Do you have an electric wire on your fence? That is what we had to do. Add 2 strands of wire and hook up the shocker to it. Shorty has not tried to get out since. I have them at 1 foot and 4 feet high. He tried to stick his head between them and got bite.
Nothing worse than horses on the road, esp with the fools we have around here....

Full day of work in the yard, just taking a break.

Chickens are out and loving it....

everyone have a good one....

DH and I went out to shoot at TigerSwan. Since we were going past the flockswap I managed to convince him to stop. Such adorable animals out there. I wanted one of everything, including the turkey and wee goats. First time we have actually seen more than 2 people there selling stuff. Guess we always got there too early. It was so tempting walking through and not bringing at least one home, but we have little ones coming soon...

Need your advice/opinion: I bout chicks from TSC(1st mistake, I know!!!) and one chick has severe crooked neck. I have be doin all the vitiams and such for it. Its thriving well other that the crooked neck. I would not want it to breed and pass this on and I have no way to keep her up to "not breed her". I would think my other birds will pick at her when shes big enough to go out. Should I keep it or put it down?
