North Carolina

I texted him to ask....he said he'd like another 150 gal. If I see one of those, but he's got plenty smaller ones. Sorry. :(

150!!!!! lol i would love a 150 too but dont really have the time and space right now im upgrading to a 55 gallon inside and have a 300 tub outside for my personal turtles k thanx anyways ur son sounds like a really cool person does he just do snakes?
He does snakes and some hydroponics indoors. Some of his tanks are used there. I think he's picked up a couple geckos and such at the last reptile show he went to, but I haven't been able to visit for some time so have no idea what he's got these days. His biggest female snake is in a 150 tank. He built a custom stand for it that took him, his dad and two of his friends to load when he moved! He's a good guy. Both of my kids are exceptionally awesome people. I am very lucky. :)

Morning NC!

It doesn't know what to do outside today - snow or just gloomy:)

My deformed beak chicken is still holding her own. She makes a mess hen eating and is usually still pecking away when the other girls have had their fill. Don't know how she does it - do chickens have tongues?

My chicken supplier told me to come by for another free chick just in case this one doesn't make it so I might do that later this morning.
Going to finish food shopping with my daughter and granddaughter this morning. That shouldn't take long so I might go fetch another chick after that.

Have a good day everyone!
chickens do have tongues, Peeper's use to stick out some because of his cross beak
DH and I went out to shoot at TigerSwan. Since we were going past the flockswap I managed to convince him to stop. Such adorable animals out there. I wanted one of everything, including the turkey and wee goats. First time we have actually seen more than 2 people there selling stuff. Guess we always got there too early. It was so tempting walking through and not bringing at least one home, but we have little ones coming soon...
which one did you go to?

5 days old and almost doubled in size and starting to get their fur.

(Luke and Jon, I didn't get hardly any brahmas to hatch(only 7 chicks total, and out of that only 3 brahmas). I just set some more, so we will try again.)

Need your advice/opinion: I bout chicks from TSC(1st mistake, I know!!!) and one chick has severe crooked neck. I have be doin all the vitiams and such for it. Its thriving well other that the crooked neck. I would not want it to breed and pass this on and I have no way to keep her up to "not breed her". I would think my other birds will pick at her when shes big enough to go out. Should I keep it or put it down?

what kind of chick? some times its a vitamin deficiency sometimes with the crested/ vaulted skull breeds, its an injury to the head. it can take some time for the vitamins to work. The last one I had with this problem was a couple month old silkie chick (in with other chicks) I switched her food from chick starter to scratch and layer pellets and kept her by herself for a while. Today you cant even tell which one she is.

Anyone have a chicken with a deformed beak? My 4 week old chick has that and seems to be growing, but has a heck of a time getting food and what a messy eater:) You think she will go full grown and produce?
Deep food and water dishes that are kept full will be a must with her. She will always be a messy eater. She should grow but will probably be smaller than others of her breed. I think Peepers was a little shorter than his breed, but he was definitely lighter by a long shot. He was also a very late bloomer for telling if he was a she or he, and even later for crowing. On the thread I put a link up for the other day, the hens also seem to be late for starting to lay eggs, but they do lay eggs

I haven't had good results with either the eggs I got or the chicks I ordered. The eggs I get from you will be their last shot with me. If I can't hatch and start them for whatever reason, I don't need them. Mine are livestock, not pets. Mostly. I would love to have Brahmas, but not if every strain I get my hands on doesn't like me!

Meg.. I know someone in Goldsboro that has Dark Bramha...or did last year. I will send her a message. And she IS NPIP.
