I hate when that happens to our horse. Do you have an electric wire on your fence? That is what we had to do. Add 2 strands of wire and hook up the shocker to it. Shorty has not tried to get out since. I have them at 1 foot and 4 feet high. He tried to stick his head between them and got bite.
Nothing worse than horses on the road, esp with the fools we have around here....

Full day of work in the yard, just taking a break.

Chickens are out and loving it....

everyone have a good one....

Yes, our fence is hot, but it's a BIG pasture.....and all it takes is one twig to ground it out. I have one horse who apparently lives to test the fence.

So the peas onions radish potato pak choi and strawberries are in...

hopefully they all grow!! got tomatoes eggplant peppers and melons started in the house

Ohhh,Yay, JD, I was hoping for a seed-starting buddy! I started turnips, green peppers, cayenne peppers, jalapeno peppers and onions in the house over the past month, and all are seedlings now. I also started Boston Fern spores. All of the above (except the fern, which needs a while) are seedlings, LOVE these little green buggers when they pop out of the soil. I also started watermelon and lettuce that didn't germinate. Try, try again.

I'm jealous. I am thinking of making the trek to Sanford some Sunday soon just to meet you ladies and learn some more.

what kind of chick? some times its a vitamin deficiency sometimes with the crested/ vaulted skull breeds, its an injury to the head. it can take some time for the vitamins to work. The last one I had with this problem was a couple month old silkie chick (in with other chicks) I switched her food from chick starter to scratch and layer pellets and kept her by herself for a while. Today you cant even tell which one she is.
She is a red sex link

OK, y'all, here are my first Swedish Flower Hen babies of the season! I'm so proud of these little babies.

they are pretty

I too had a horse that his mission in life was to
test the fence. He was a 16 hh horse that could slip
through a 4 strand fence and NOT take it down or
pop any of it loose.......luckily none of our current
horses test the fence

to the store side of the drive....had chickens,
turkeys, pigeons and the pheasant. Wish we
had gotten to meet you....maybe next time
