this is the new project I am working on customer wants four nest boxes I tried to explain but she wanted it so i need to cut out and ad the other side so she will have 4 total and of course the run

. Don't know about withdrawal, but incubating is okay.Good morning everyoneI have a quick question, I can't seem to find anything about weather or not there is an egg withdrawl when using permethrin? Anyone know? Also if there is a withdrawl, can I incubate the eggs or no?
Talk to Beth....BHepI am looking for silkie pullets; really any color. Is there anyone in the eastern part of the state that y'all know of? {Pretty sure I can't convince dh to drive real far for chickens, lol } I'm about a month out from being ready. *sigh* Thanks!

Really nice catch of that coon. I think something is trying to get into my chickens, too. They are in the coop/run and all in a very large fenced yard with 2 very protective dogs. But the dogs have been pacing the farthest perimeter ...nearest the coops.. and barking all night. Haven't seen anything but if it ever drys/warms on a day that I am off, I will walk the pastures and look for sign. Have heard that there are coyotes nearby, and I have heard foxes, but only thing that I have seen has been the occasional possum, which one of my dogs LOVES to kill and share the carcass with us
Elvis, the aggressive rooster is still loose in the yard, I attempted to hand feed him and he shied from me, then sneaked up on me while I was collecting eggs and layed a massive bruise all the way around my shin. Caught him with the toe of my boot and sent him for a flip 'Fraid he is gonna be the star of a pot of dumplings very soon. He has nubby spurs that seem to be getting bigger each day. He spend all day out in that rainstorm yesterday, and somehow found himself outside the big fence yesterday morning. While I was playing with his ladies and the buffs and giving lots of yummy meal worm treats, he was pacing the fence fussing...oh well sucks to be him!
The touch of spring over the weekend wasn't enough!!! I am ready to do some heavy duty spring cleaning! It's been too wet to plow yet, not looking good for early crops like peas...my favorite!

Elvis, the aggressive rooster is still loose in the yard, I attempted to hand feed him and he shied from me, then sneaked up on me while I was collecting eggs and layed a massive bruise all the way around my shin. Caught him with the toe of my boot and sent him for a flip 'Fraid he is gonna be the star of a pot of dumplings very soon. He has nubby spurs that seem to be getting bigger each day. The chickens seem to be enjoying their new digs. They are locked in today, but there's about six inches of dry leaves hubby put in, so I spread a generous amount of scratch in there this morning. They'll stay busy hunting it all down. Since each side of that henhouse is 10 x 16, they have enough room to not be unhappy for a day, to get used to the house. Tomorrow, I'll turn them loose during the day.
Hubby put padlocks on that henhouse, too, since it's closest to the road. That'll keep out the human predators. And he fox proofed it last year. It should be good to go, as long as I never forget to lock up!
The hawk-bait rooster is wandering around at the old coop, looking at the turkeys and wondering what is going on. He'll find out later, as he'll be dog stew.
The garden is enjoying this rain. Peas and spinach and lettuce are up and growing. Broccoli is doing well. We didn't put in potatoes this year. Soon it will be warm enough to put in the tender stuff! Yummy!

Will be ready to get the girls into the coop/run and out of the garage in a few weeks. Do I put them in the coop and later open it up so they can go out to the run?
