Wow! Woodstock! I grew up in Palenville, near Woodstock, then when I got married, I moved to just outside of Albany. Such a small world...

Very warm outside, sun keeps popping in and out, and the charcoal is getting hot. It is grilling time. The dogs are staring at the grill drooling and the chickens are fussing.

Hey everybody Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Its sure finally looking like spring is here .
Been busy with spring projects, and cleaning house for company this Wednesday, got some family coming up to celebrate my Bday with me
The chickens sure know its spring, been about 6 eggs a day out of 9 possible layers. Now if the ducks would just start laying for me, I want to hatch ducklings
I just order permethrin and oxine, and got 4 bags of cedar shavings, so tomorrow, or tuesday, I plan to clean all the bedding out of my coops, hose them down, spray with oxine, dust all the birds with Sevin and then dose with permethrin. Question: since permethrin is a 28 day treatment, will I need to repeat it after 2 weeks? Or will just another dusting be enough(I plan to dust every week for at least 4 weeks).

On another note, I won't be able to make it out to the birthday bash at WCA next week my aunt won't be able to give us her car until mid-april, but as soon as we have it......road trip!!!

Life's funny sometimes I am from North Carolina raised my two daughters here and now my youngest is in college in Ithaca, New York. And she is there going into International Agriculture.

Duckling #2 finally hatched! It was the first to pip on Friday. The second one to pip was the first to hatch last night. We're waiting for at least 4 more to start zipping, since they've already pipped, and then hopefully the other 6 will pip soon. We think one may not hatch at all though, candled and no movement at all.

rbaker: what was your friends band? And where did they play?
