Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Hubby finished the door to the quarantine house this weekend before he left. All that's needed now is to hang cages. Things are moving along!

Back to work for me today. Guess I'd best get to it!

Enjoy your day!

wca got over just after 5 yesterday. I had to wait til almost the end for what I wanted but I got it at a pretty good price. But ended up being there waiting in line til the end

Good morning!

rbaker: Not sure I recognize those names... I asked because my brother and his best friend were in a band and I wondered if it might be them or someone they knew.

On a duckling note: we now have 3 ducklings hatched, at least 3 more that are pipped. They seem to be coming in 12 hour intervals. This slow process is going to send me into conniptions if it doesn't pick up soon!

Good Monday Morning everyone!!

WELCOME to all the new folks!! I hope you enjoy your stay with us...there are LOTS of really friendly & helpful enablers ... err - I mean people on here!

Got rid of one of our roosters last night...the "pretty" Cochin Splash x Buff Orpington little guy...he is now alpha male to 4 pretty hens (well, he will be once his quarantine is over with!!) I am happy to be rid of another ROOSTER - it's one I don't have to feed nor process, so it's all good. The gal fell in love with Cadbury (said "wow he's big)...I had to keep an eye on her to make sure he stayed with us...haha...JK
Who else has planting fever? I want to get my garden planted and growing...DH and I have been working long hours to get the garden set up and I am so unfamiliar with NC weather, I don't know when to plant what. LOL. Since you're suppose to plant most weeks after the last possible frost...WHEN have we had frost lately?!? LOL...yes, I am THAT anxious! My tomato sprouts are doing SO well compared to how they did last year, I am hopeful. Maybe, just MAYBE my black thumb is turning slightly green?!?

On a family note...today is THE day we take the youngest to the specialist at Duke for her consultation/testing with the geneticist...we're in for a LONG LONG day. Best part: DH is home with me to help, AND I scheduled a shopping play date with a friend...so regardless of the outcome...it's a good day!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

This weekend I planted my potatoes, iceberg lettuce and mustard greens. I'm going to hold off another few weeks on everything else (probably about mid April, depending on weather) and then sweet potatoes in late April early May. I do have my beans, cukes, marigolds, and squash started in egg cartons in the house. Hope that helped a little.
