Yes. His best friend died in it. They haven't released the name due to family notifications, but it is known there.

Thanks, both of you. They still don't know what happened. Joe called me yesterday, distraught. And there is nothing anyone can do for him or the others in their little close group of friends, or his family. Nothing but say you're sorry. And we all feel helpless.

I just texted Joe to see how he's doing today. He's got a huge distraction happening, which he finds frustrating, and I think is great timing. His water heater burst this morning, so he's dealing with a flood in his apartment. I'm glad. He's a very pragmatic person, like me, but this experience is rough on even the most pragmatic person on Earth. Something to keep him from dwelling on it is good.
