do ship/sell hatching eggs. All I can ever find is bobwhite, sold in 50 lots at hatcheries and I'd love to have jumbo! This is project I'm taking up for my Mother, she used to spend ages in the field behind the house she grew up in listening to and watching them she loves them and misses the sounds. I'm hoping to focus mainly on projects she is interested in, because while she enjoys the birds I do have, and 'loves' she doesn't Love them like I do, and I love her to have some things that keep interested in what I'm Doing. So my two main projects this year are bobwhite, and build a pen and put in another pond for wood ducks.
O speaking of pond, I don't know if any of yall have tried this or maybe I'm a little slow with ideas, but after all the rain and the ducks, 'digging' in the mud, I decide I would dig a 1-1 1/2 ft whole to sink their pool into, well my friend told to attach a hose to bottom with a plug on the end, so then Icould drain the pools from the bottom, I'm gonna try it tomorrow and see how it works, cause I'm sick of dumping their pools twice a day

We are NPIP certified. We have a stash of eggs ready right now if you want me to ship them to you.

It warmed my heart when I read that your mother loves the "sounds" of the quail. I agree, I cannot tell you how they make me smile. The sweetest voices and calls EVER. They call out Bob WHITE! But there are the other sounds, too.....the little beeping noises they make to eachother, and especially the "wippo WHEEL, wippo WHEEL!" Love these sweet little birds, love the circles they make when they go to sleep, and when it's cold. They are beautiful.

WOW! Brought tears to my eyes to think there still are good parents and this young man has the opportunity to become a responsible and caring adult. This is an awesome testimony.

Yes, I cried a little bit too....for the kid, and for everyone involved who acted in his best interest despite what he did. Kids need to learn that all living things are important.

oh my lord jesus christ i just say a flea out in the yard so i immediatly sprayed down everyone with happy jack i guess its that time of year again and i am fully prepared since i found out last summer that my 2 year old welsh corgi mix teddy is severly allergic to fleas one bite and he swells up like a ballon and scrathes himself raw im hopen this doesnt happen again this year...

My Cavalier does too. Benadryl helps. My vet recommended one Benadryl pill every 12 hours and to keep him on it throughout flea season. I also use Trifexis for flea and heartworm control.

Newhomesteader, I just learned a HARD lesson about putting cut grass in my run for the birds. They loved it when I cut grass and put it in there for them to eat. The problem is, they ate too much and the grass pieces were too long. When they "graze" they take little bites, for the most part. The long pieces got stuck in their crop. Several of my birds developed sour crop, two really badly. I ended up losing one hen and almost lost another. Only drastic measures saved that one. So, no more putting cut grass in the run....EVER! The only grass they will get will be when I let them out to graze.

Good morning every body!!!

I need some advice:

We brought home those chickens from WCA last weekend, not knowing I needed a quarantine. I spent all day Monday in the pouring down rain building a separate pen for them that's 10'x10' with 3 nesting boxes and an 8ft roost. I enclosed the top with bird netting to keep them from flying out. I realize they spent the first 24 hours together and anything airborne will be spread, but I'm really trying to keep them separate to observe them. I treated all my birds with Zimecterin Gold since the new ones showed signs of worms.

Every time I turn around my husband has intentionally opened the gate to the new pen to let the chickens out and the new birds are in my original coop and my original birds are in the new pen using their food and water bowl and pecking at the ground! We have had 3 arguments over this the past few days where I keep telling him to please stop letting the birds out, I want to keep them separated. He keeps getting a huge attitude and telling me it's pointless they've already been around each other. I spent ALL DAY building this pen by myself, I want these chickens to use it! I also want to be able to see who's poo is who's and who is laying. Obviously anything I'm saying isn't helping, I wanted some outside advice on how to approach this with my husband because I am so sick of arguing over chickens!!!

Where do you go strawberry (or blueberry) picking???

And is there an age on kids? Up north where I'm from the kids can't go because the farmers think they trample plants (I guess they had some bad experiences with parents that don't know how to watch their kids!)

I try every year to grow strawberries and never have any luck. This year we put 4 blueberry bushes in the back yard and my chickens ate them down to the stump, even the branches!!!
