Sorry don't have any extras. I've been waiting forever for my hens to start laying as well. I'm hoping it will be any day now. If I hear of any, I'll let you know.

Be SUPER careful adding adults.
I was tempted by laying hens since it felt like mine were taking forever.
Went to the auction, ended up losing EVERYONE!!!
Now I have to start all the way from the beginning this fall with chicks
If I could do it over, I would have just waited it out instead of adding layers.

NH - I know EXACTLY where Swanton is as well as both schools you taught at! Small world. We are from Clyde and Castalia - both outside of Sandusky. I may be PMing you... a lot. Lol - I tend to be long winded as well... no worries!

As far as the impatience for laying -- I have the same bug! Mr. and I were talking tonight about how many eggs we are going to have when they do start laying finally, I am thinking August...YAHOOO! Right now I am excited for my SLW girls to get a little bigger to go out inthe coop with the other girls, they are nearlyfully feathered at about 6 weeks old.

!! LOL, doctors, what do they know?!? Why women back in the day worked hard and delivered out in the field, strapped the baby to themsVelves and continued working...LOL).

Very much how, in the olden days, we had to walk 10 miles to and from school - uphill both ways!
