I agree.
Though I will spray for those horrific creatures you guys down here call "pine bugs" (aka cock roaches on steroids)
We don't have them back home, and I don't care how long I live here I don't think I will ever get used to them.
No other bugs bother me, but I get chills just thinking about them!
The rest of bugs I like as long as they aren't biting me!
We have those "water bugs" or "pine bugs" as you call them. Those things are monsters!!!! Once the weather warmed up they became a daily occurance. I never had bugs like that back in NJ. My DH can't figure out why they freak me out so badly. My friend from school texts me every time she sees one. It's too funny!

Every now and then I'll go to get in the shower and see one running down the drain, FREAKS ME OUT!!!!
Apparently they hang out in the sewers and whatnot and can come up through your bathroom drains.
Orkin told me they can live some ridiculous amount of time completely underwater I think it was like a week or something!
GAG!

oooooooh i didn't realize she had them!
I'll be in the market for more eggs late August I'd LOVE to buy some from you coop scoop!!!
Sure.......let me know when you are ready and if the girls are still laying we can work it out
but these are ameracanas....not orpingtons....I have black English orpingtons

Hi Everyone, I hope you don't mind if I join this conversation. I am located in Sanford (between Fayetteville and Raleigh). Just picked up some lavender ameraucana hatching eggs from Coop Scoop Boogie this afternoon. Can't want for the little guys to hatch! Tammy
I'm glad you like them and can't wait to see how many lavs you get

I can remember as a youngster playing in the rain
and water puddles always had to walked through on
my way to school and I'm all for a nice easy rain..........

but these downpours and drops the size of a 5 gallon
bucket splash just is a little too much.

Thankfully our place
is on a sand bar but even it is holding water now.......

those birds need to change in the chicken wings for water wings.
Think I'll head to the dollar store and buy the birds some pool floaties

This weather is CRAZY!!!!
I hope everyone's chickens are holding up all snug in their coops and not getting rained out!!!
I'm getting worried about my bunnies since they run they yard and usually hang out under the shed which looks like whole underneath has flooded out.
But I'm not going outside in this to start looking around in the dark for gray bunnies!
Fingers crossed the veggie gardens aren't flooded, my yard is all sand!
I do love the sound of rain though

well Lake Ramirez is open for business, price you must take 2 5gal buckets full of water (not my goldfish) when you leave and NO dumping them for a mile!!

Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

We bought our place in 2003, the year of all the floods and the Hope Mills dam breaking. Even with all that, this place was high and dry...even though we look flat as a pancake. My thoughts are with those of you flooding out, though. It can't be fun.
