Good morning everyone!
Busy day in store for me as I prepare for the IN LAWS to visit tomorrow. Meal planning, grocery shopping, last minute cleaning complete with 2 little helpers and a little girl who is ALMOST a month old already!!

Time goes by FAR too fast!!
We have ducklings hatching (?) this weekend and my lone white maran attempting to sit on DUDS - with no rooster all of our eggs are duds and well...she's still determined to sit. I've tried moving her off the eggs, taking the eggs from her, etc...she is DETERMINED! We're set to have a bunch of chicks shipped...how well do you think she'd handle waking up one morning to 50 ish babies?!? LOL

Good morning everyone! We got some much needed rain last night.

Our grass was starting to turn brown and the garden was wilting. Woke up long enough to see a beautiful light show and went right back to sleep.

Oh! Edited to add.... experimenting with a dry incubation. Hatch due tomorrow, so far two healthy beautiful chicks out, 5 more pipped, only 2 not pipped. Very optimistic. Thanks for the tips Beth!

WOW!!! My ladies don't lay until somewhere between 9:30 :1130. Have one as late as mid afternoon. I go down and open them up and then leave then alone

My girls are very unpredictable still, sometimes I've got eggs first thing in the morning and others I have to wait til 2 or later. I do have all four laying now which is very exciting.

I everyone! I was posting pics to craigslist this afternoon so I have to share the results of some of my "experiments".

Blue Copper Marans/Olive Egger mix - Blue beard with muffs, not as interesting as the barred cockerels but cute anyway.


Thanks for indulging a proud mama. They are all boys and they gotta go!
