Good morning all, If anyone lives close to Burnsville NC and would be interested in a Naked Neck[Turkin] Rooster ? someone dropped one off at our church about 3 weeks ago, some of the members have been feeding him but major road work is going to take out the trees he is hanging under, I have 2 roos already so I can't take him and am having a hard time finding this guy a home. If interested let me know. thanks

Does anyone grow fodder? I am having a hard time locating barley seed around the asheboro area... any ideas where to look.

I want to get my system set up for winter when I do not have much to feed the chickens besides their layer ration. Any help would be great!

I use wheat... my birds LOVE it. Got it from Southern States. I have heard some people add BOSS. I add the left over bird seeds from my inside birds. (Finch & Cockatiel )

hope all is well with you and family and feathered friends?? Have missed visiting with everyone here will have to check back in and see how everyone is doing. All feathered babies are great, kept hatching to minimum this year since space is gone, we hatched 7 BA's 3 roos went into chicken an dumplings and hatched 3 ducklings 1 drake 2 ducks. Other than that and trying to keep up with ducks brooding on nothing it's kept me busy. How about you?

Been doing almost the same, trying to keep broodies happy and hoping they stop going broody soon

. Projects, sumatras, and a few lakenvelders are really all I hatched this year (with some help of course

) I have a few un-needed roosters that if they don't find somewhere else to roost will be making the same as yours

just gotta let them get big enough first.

Hey, anyone have any tips on sexing frizzles, or are they the same as any other chick? I am obsessed with this little one and I'm REALLY hoping it turns out to be a girl, I love the color. She's an olive egger, though not sure exactly what she is other than she came from a brown egg so guess an Ameraucana rooster was the dad? She's my favorite little chick so hoping I can keep her

Judging by color, the well feather wings and the development of tail feathers, I'm gonna say you got one lovely little Girl

Curious, how can you tell by coloring?
I'm still fairly new to sexing and hatching
She's just about 3 weeks old now, I think she's so cute
