to the new flockers

The tooth fairy visited last night, which would be just fine except for the fact that the oldest insisted on hiding it!

Looked under both pillows, and the dog. Looked all over the floor and under the bed. Finally found it in her hands up under her chin

. So the tooth fairy was still able to visit but dang I hate having a kid that don't believe in the tooth fairy. Though I think she might believe in it a little more now since she came out smiling this morning.

Good morning everyone! Breakfast made, bread rising, veggies chopped for dinner. I do love having the day off.

Thank you to all of the veterans and families of veterans. It is important to remember that today is not only a day off, it is a day to remember and thank veterans for their sacrifices.

Welcome to the new folks, it is great to see you.

You said you would be at the beach in December, that wouldn't be anywhere near Beaufort, would it? Because I would love to get those two muscovies from you. Could you PM me?

Got my first MW turkey egg today. I found it in the silkie coop and I was really disturbed at first, thinking that one of my poor little silkies had popped out that enormous egg

. Then I realized who's egg it was and I popped it directly into the incubator.

You're a good mom for searching for that tooth!

At work today, as we don't get veterans day off. Hubby is home and working hard on his "project". He's building a lean-to on the back of the shop. 60 feet long, 16 feet high and 20 feet wide. After we chain link it, we can park the lawn mowers under it, keep canoe and kayak, and assorted other stuff that's in the way inside the shop. And possibly turn one end into a pen for his turkeys, although I hate keeping them penned instead of letting them free range. It's still under discussion.

Hope you are all enjoying the day!

Happy veterans day and thank you to all who served!

Working on updating old coop today. My production reds have all begun picking on my easter eggers...There are only 3 easter Eggers and 15 production reds... not a fair fight. So I am moving them back to first coop hopefully tonight before anyone gets hurt. One Easter Egger has fell off so because they will not let her near food. Hopefully this will help.

I am looking forward to spring when I can order some new chicks and get a variety of chickens again. I like being able to tell them apart.

I hope everyone has a great day it is beautiful outside!

Oh, I am soo sad you are so far away! Your flock sounds lovely, and I sure could use a few extra girls. Good luck with the sale of your birds.

That reminds me.... I finally got around to asking the Southern States girl where they get their chicks from. She said they get them from Ideal Poultry. Not sure if that's just the Asheboro store or all Southern States but thought I'd put it out there in case anyone else was wondering.
