Yes just because the person who was supposed to come everyday now can't and I want to make sure there was enough water since it's hot.
I'm having a panic attack about leaving them!
Instead of the nipples I made some 5 gallon waterers, similar to the ones you fill and flip over I can't really explain, but it's the same concept as what they're drinking from now just holds more.
I have 5 gallons for 4 ducks plus their pool.
5 gallons for 12 chicks
15 gallons for 15 chickens, a peacock & a turkey
and 10 gallons for 10 pullets & a meat turkey
And 10 gallons for 10 rabbits.

Do you think this will be enough water???
I've never had to leave without having someone care for them for me!!!!!
I am plenty good on feed, they have 200lbs feeders in all my bird pens and a 5 gallon bucket in both rabbit pens with a tray at the bottom it feeds into...

My husband made it very clear if I'm not in that car leaving for a week at noon, all my stuff needs to be out of the house by the time he gets back with the kids, and he's not messing around.
I don't think it's a good idea to leave that many animals with no fresh water
or fresh food for a week and unattended. I don't know if that is enough water
for all of the birds and rabbits. I hope you have a good trip and come home to
all being okay.

@Jt- did you get my FB tag on the post of my friend who is rehoming her hens???
I wonder if I read it and told myself I had to wait until I had a safe place....which I really must do. Yard it too bit to free range...not enough cover for them....not run complete.. But I'll be ok,,,,I'm gradually working on it..

Oh I definitely don't think its a good idea either!
I'm a mess I feel like I'm abandoning my children &I have no one to help me. I'm a mess over the whole situation.
I added all their original waters in addition to the new & 6 more nest boxes.
They have shade, tons of food, a bunch of fresh veggies/fruit but they'll be gone today. I also have a very shallow pool like 4"tall I filled the chickens were drinking from to.
Just hoping I come home & they're ok I was put in a really bad situation with no help...

You'll get there. It may take a bit to rehome them. She may be willing to wait if it's not too terribly long. So frustrating for you. :/

This app does not like my phone!!!! Grrrr!!!:/ so aggravating stupid iphone! Anywho moved my flock to a happier area of the yard a few days ago they didn't lay the first day! But holy guacamole! They have a nest half the size of their coop now with eggs everywhere! Goofy chicken don't even want to lay in their boxe their happy with their new spot I guess. Only problem they keep escaping when I try to feed them! :( as long as the doggies don't bother them I suppose its fine but I have one stubborn hen that just hates me! She is the only one who refuses to come to me no matter what! She acts like a beaten dog! :( she's always been this way but she got out and it took me 2 hours to get her back in the coop! 2 hours y'all! And my rooster seems to be liking the ladies a little too much. I have a few who have not feathers on their hind ends. Any ideas? Oh one more thing! I got 2 new bantam EEs and I think they're both hens!!!! Yet! ;)
