..............I love it....I can actually picture this happening! I've been taking ice out to the coops for the chickens.....several times a day. I have some small water bottles that I keep in the freezer and go out and add them to their waterers. Have 3 sets so them get them thru the hottest days. Also have fans in both coops

PLEASE if your interested, LET ME KNOW!

I have 4 beautiful young roos, about a month and a half, 2 white 1 black. the blck is turning out beautiful, looking just like his full grown brother. I also have a beautiful OE Japanese bantam cross roo, and a Americana cross hen.

PM me for pictures or prices. it would be incredible if these lovies could have a nice home....ive been searching all the way since july.

Don't know how close it is to you, but there's a flock swap coming up September 6th in Cedar Creek. You can check Craig's List for the address.

Posted this in Emergencies, but thought I'd post here too:

I have a hen that I found sitting in my yard a few days (almost a week) ago when I went out to feed the chickens. She had been pecked on top of her head enough to bleed and make me think she had a concussion, she has trouble standing up, but not paralyzed in legs or wings. After a week in separation, she has not laid an egg, she is not bloated, normal stool, she's eating and drinking, but still having a bit of trouble standing. She literally wobbles, like a drunk person. I contacted a chicken breeder that I trust to see what she thought. She referred me to a vet that suggested either neurological Marek's, or egg peritonitis. From the symptoms I've researched for both, I honestly don't think she has either. My hubby says we should just euth her, burn the body and quarantine the rest of the flock. Any thoughts? Any other ideas besides Marek's or egg peritonitis? What should I do about the rest of my flock?

Could be neurological damage from the head injury?
My silkie got a solid peck on the head and I thought she was going to die. She was laying on her side unable to walk, head swaying back and forth like she was dizzy. I brought her inside and after three days she was totally back to her normal crabby self. I was lucky that it was temporary with no noticeable longterm effects and a fast recovery. Hopefully yours continues to improve. :)

Get some rest..and start hydrating as soon as you get up and not that does not mean soda! Do not wait until you get thirsty to drink.....if you do ,,, you will already behind you bodily needs... just please be careful!!

Good morning folks

Boy was yesterday just full surprises. Not only did we have enough
heat to give Hades a run for their money but we topped it off with
a gully washer of a rain......and we have a chance to repeat it all today.
Looks like the birds may need ice bottles today. It has been too long since
we had rain but really need it to be a slow gentle rain to help out the plants.
I just hope it isn't this hot for the weekend and it's rainless.

hope everyone has a good day
