Good morning folks

It's been a nice weekend and a good morning so far.
It does seem to be getting dusk so much earlier these
days and soon it will be dark before I get home from work.
That will make it hard to get things done outside in the
yard and coops or garden. One of things I don't like about
winter.......the other is the cold.

Hello everyone--

I am selling the following in bulk--which is a great source of protein and healthy fat/oils for getting through the winter--I feed multiple ways--

Create a suet type block mixing the scratch with the peanut butter--
Free access to the peanut butter via a bucket with large holes drilled in the sides--
Mixing in the milled peanuts with scratch--
Adding either one to the fermented feed

Peanut Butter by the pound-- $2.50
Bulk rate 35lbs is $60

Milled peanuts by the pound-- $2
Bulk rate 30lbs is $50

My chickens love love love it!

This is crazy. Yesterday was a nice temp....a little on the warm side
but still nice........this morning it's hot and humid. The poor girls are
going to be so confused......they don't know if they should lay an egg,
molt or go into spring lusting season. I'm not all that far behind them either.

I'm with you....I have winter clothes out (because I'm very cold natured) and mixed with warm weather clothes which means they are all strewn from one side of my room and closet to the other! I'm trying to get the coop ready to winterize but don't want it hot for them yet!!

Ladies are halfway thru molt and don't know whether to turn loose of the rest of their feathers or not~ LOLOL Told them the other day that they didn't have a choice but I'm not sure they believed me!!! LOL

I just had an experience that we all need to think about very seriously! I got sick...I mean CCU sick very unexpectedly...was away for 4 days and then again unexpectantly...2 days later for 4 days....ended up in they neuro unit at a big teaching hospital an hour away from us. Now, at the same time my dh had obligated himself to help run/organize a 5K run here near home "AND"....LOL.... he was sick, needing to be able to go to bed but didn't! Terrible situation !!!
My chickens needed to be taken care of..........my hubby had no time (and you all know he's not a chicken man) He was able to keep them watered and pretty much filled up their feeders the day before. I was physically unable to top everything off before I had to leave! I had NO ONE to feed my ladies!!!! At least they were watered but they were hungry when I got home...

PREPARE....!!!!! in case of a situation like I had. Have a kid, a neighbor,,, someone to know what you have to do to take care of things while you are unexpectedly away! I have someone,,,,just hadn't taught them where everything was or how to take care of things. LOL...I did gather 11 eggs though ! Talk later...but please think about this seriously
