North Carolina

It's been a pretty sucky day today. Been house-bound all day because of the sleety stuff. But worst of all I found out this morning that my Great-Grandma died sometime during the night. She was 107, and lived a full, happy and healthy life, but I still can't help but be broken~hearted about her loss. Sorry to be all sad all over the thread... I just wanted to talk about it a little. ;~; In lighter news, my chicks seem to be doing okay. A bit over a week old now, and they seem to be no worse for wear in this cold cold weather!
So sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts. She was a beautiful lady!

Did you ever hear back from this lady?  Did she send you pictures of the parent stock?  Would be interesting to know.

Hi Claudia,
I got an email yesterday. She said mostly blue eggs with some pink as well, but the egg pic was dark and the eggs are in a blue Styrofoam carton, so it's really hard to see the colors. I haven't decided yet. I don't think I should past the pic on here though, since it's not mine. Are you definitely wanting them?

Well, if you're going to get some for yourself, sure id like some. But if you're not, then don't go out of your way.

I'll let you know, pinky promise! :p

I have EEs and could always ship you some eggs. My girls are covered by true wheaten ameraucana boys and produce some beautiful wheaten chicks

Here's a pic of 2 pullets that came from them last year

And the beautiful eggs they just started laying.

You can see pictures of the parent flock on my swap page. PM if interested. Can do 12+ for $30 shipped

Oh your birds sure are pretty, but you're a little too far for my taste in shipped eggs. I seem to have the worst luck ever on eggs shipped further south than Georgia and further north than Virginia. I think its cause they actually get sent on airplanes. or... i have no clue.

so im working on a frizzle line right now at the moment. I have one sizzle hen covered by a 50% silkie 50% Japanese bantam roo.
im needing more sizzles for my frizzle line....do any of you have any you breed or are selling? im looking for NPIP birds :)

also, im selling hatching eggs for my line during the summer if any of you are interested, but im worried that the 25% Japanese the chicks may carry is a problem...I like it in there because it brings bigger tails and pretty patterns into the picture. would it be hard to have a frizzle line if the jap is in there?

I hope everyone is enjoying this weather....
My four year old daughter decided to ice skate on our driveway this morning... You can see my unfinished breeding pens taunting me in the background......

Good morning folks

It's just a touch on the chilly side outside at the moment......
a whole 19 degrees. I am hoping all the craziness is over
and everyone driving out there is being very careful. I really
don't want to play bumper cars.

hope everyone has a good day
