I placed my first order for chicks. I've only ever bought hatching eggs and chicks locally so this is all new for me. I've been dying to get some silver ameraucanas though so I'm really really excited! :)

Did you order from Fowl Stuff (John Blehm)? I know I am looking at doing that!

If not, who did you order from?

I have 2 rooster free to good homes, I'd prefer homes where they will be pets, back yard breeders, and protectors and not end up on the table.
I have too many sadly and my poor ladies are ready for at least 2 to find new homes.
I have 2 olive egger roosters.
#1(mom a beautiful green egg laying Easter egger and dad a splash blue laced red wyandotte, both parents and this rooster are extremely friendly not to rough on the hens and great protectors, this rooster is gourgous both black and white lacingvon his chest he will be a 2 in September this year)
#2 (parents are the same, coming up on a year old in August I think, he has a lot more red, with beautiful blue tail, not crowing yet)
I hate to part with these guys but I just have to many roos and not enough hens.

I'll get pics and post later.
Thanks guys.
I'm in the highpoint Thomasville nc area!

Those that are NPIP:
How long does it typically take to get your results? I've got my appointment on the 1st and I'm planning to hatch chicks on the 10th. It would be nice to sell them as NPIP certified...

Hello - I looked over the website, and think they are probably on the up and up, i.e. NPIP certified etc. I am also impressed that both of them (father and son) have or are currently studying Poultry Science. I also like that they have formulated their own feeds that are sourced locally. Definitely a small operation, but not a big deal. I did not see any mention of a guarantee for chicks (most large hatcheries offer some kind of guarantee if a chick doesn't make it with a few days). My advice is to visit them if you live nearby. At the very least, call them and ask a lot of questions to get a feel for who they are and what their practices are. Good luck!

Thank you for you response! I'm going to try and give them a call today.
