I'm in Durham now, but looking to move. Any recommendations of neighborhoods/HOAs in Orange Co. that allow backyard chickens? Specifically with Durham or Hillsborough addresses? Thanks!

We are located in Raleigh and are first time chicken owners. We finished our coop this past fall/winter and received our first batch of 16 chickens (which ended up being 20) in late February.

We have 1 Black Australorp hen and then several Splash & White Silkies (both hens and roosters) that will turn 18 weeks old this week.

We currently have 20 chickens and are hoping to re-home about 10 of them. We are also hoping to recover some of the costs that went into these for both purchase and food over the 18 weeks.

They were all initially raised in a large area in our shed with a heating pad until they were old enough to be moved outdoors. They now all live in a large outdoor run/coop. They have been fed organic feed from a local mill. All of them are healthy.
