North Carolina

Oh, I did that for the first time the other day. Kinda my fault though. I was trying to feed the horses while I was already out there closing in the chickens for the night. Oh well, guess I learned to collect AFTER everything is done.

Thank you very much, she is the barn favorite. She likes to come out of the pen and follow you all around the barn looking for treats.

Good Morning Story and all my favorite neighbors.... Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you all

Just a couple of tiny flakes falling here, nice & warm at 30 degrees. We get to stay at home~~but I have ALOT of cooking to do---just feeding 3 people, we'll have leftovers for at least a week...yeah!!!!

Nate continues to improve, but he's become a house chicken---at least until he's completely well. He just wanders around the diningroom/hatchery as he pleases. He startled me last night....all the lights were turned off & I though everyone was asleep. I was sitting in the den--which adjoins the DR--reading emails....stood up to go to bed, and there's Nate!!!! sitting in the floor right behind the chair. Glad I saw him and didn't step on him....of course, I had to pick him up and snuggle for a while.

Running late on feeding the birds....and they're singing to let me know.

Have a wonderful day

No snow and a warm 36 degrees when I tending the birds at 7:45 this morning. Lite snow started at 8:30. The chickens were already out and wondering about.

Now we have just over an inch of snow, it is 30 degrees, and everything is covered. This snow is sticking to everything. My truck was parked in the back yard last night to make room out front for my brother and his family today. There are 40+ chickens under my Dodge. I am going to have a problem in a few minutes since all those birds have to be herded to their houses and shelters. Most will not touch snow without some motivation. These are my big girls. The bantams were hanging around their houses this morning and ducked back in or under when this started.

Matt

Edited to add that they have reset our possible totals to the original 6-12" of snow over the next 48 hours.

Really laying in Bethel! Safely going back to candler. Little sad, had to cull a sick bird at moms. She had bubbles and sneezing, not really moving.
