I agree, time for a new home. You will find a new rooster for her and it will be a love match.

I just rehomed 15 rooster, I had a real hard time letting one go (a white serama) but EVERYone hated him! I have about ( I don't want to count) 50ish chickens all free ranging together, hens & roosters and they all get along. Everytime I let him out there was nothing but fights all over. Since he is gone it has been so peaceful.

the weather people are wrong.

Forecast is sun today, Cloudy Monday, Rain Tuesday, Cloudy Wed, Chance of rain or snow Thursday, and then more Clouds. Gah I am tired of rain and snow, my yard is one big puddle from Friday's rain!!!!!

SO how is everyone's egg production going? I currently only have Silkies and D'uccles...I have 6 (maybe a secret laying 7th pullet) hens, and of the 6 (maybe 7) I am getting 3-4 eggs a day. I can't complain a bit about that! I can't wait till my next 3 'close of age' girls start laying for me!

I am getting brahmas and polish from ideal the first week of March, excited about that!

Anyone have D'uccles ?? Particularly golden neck (splash), or porcelian?

Hey, I just have to send out the love to everyone on this forum. I joind a Chinese Crested(dog) forum to research my pup that I am getting from Em. UGH! what a bunch of prissies! I sent out 2 simple questions about food and training, and was attacked by the people on the forum. So apparently I am a bad dog mom b/c I don't allow my animals on the couch/bed, and b/c I feed them "crap" purina. I love that BYC is full of down to earth people that actually answer questions without making the person asking feel like they are morons. So here's my love for you all!

A beautiful sunny day here today, wish it would dry out..... Cleaned out the chicken run yesterday, so much wet straw, but now nice clean dry stuff for them to scratch in. I need it dry until at leat Wed or Thur so they can move by new shed-to-be-henhouse in position.

But our preparations for next Saturday in Morganton are going well, and we look forward to seeing y'all, especially you SANDY!!!!!!!!!

I have used high end order only brands... Only one was good, but not at 70$ for 30lbs. People raise animals in so many very different ways! Your definitely not bad for feeding Purina. As a matter of fact hats off to you for taking in a rescue! Loving it enough to do some reserve and aquiant your self with the quirks of the breed! You are an awesome dog lover! Thank you for your love for animals!
My 2 pennys
Good morning all!

Thanks Story. My dh is the one who wants to use purina....he is from Buffalo, and they have a plant there. Those northerners are VERY loyal folk to their town and workers. I'm ok with using a more nutritious food, but dogs do eat other dogs droppings, so what's a little corn in the food going to do?!

O.K., so today is the deadline for the Morganton show entries and still haven't made up my mind.

I know a couple that I am bringing but on the fence about a few as they are just not at the very best. I HATE making decisions!!!!

I feed blue buffalo, and don't notice one single difference from when I fed pedigree. Truth be told, I sometimes still feed pedigree if I can't get to asheville to get the other stuff. Do NOT let anyone make you feel bad. This dog was dumped over my fence...whatever you feed him and however you love him will be more than he had prior
