DD was hit with it hard too. Started late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. She spent 7 hours in hospital Monday. They had to give her 2 liters of fluids...she was severely dehydrated from not holding anything down for almost 48 hours. Her fever was up and down for 3 days - it hit 102.5 in the hospital. Dr gave her antibiotic, cough pill, and nausea pill. Said it was flu with touch of pneumonia.

That is with no testing or lab work or anything. He said any tests he did on blood or lungs would not change his treatment plan.

My DD NEVER gets sick other than occasional sinus infections or strep throat.

DH has been sick, too, but not as bad as DD.

Both are feeling better, now. DD's doc said it could take up to 10 days from onset for her to feel back to normal

I have been sick the last two days too. I have been living off of kaopectate nasty stuff but it works

I'm wondering how many of you who got sick have had "the flu shot" this year and who hasn't? Just curious. I work in a school situation and they said the flu was at epidemic proportions; they were encouraging all students to get the flu shot free at school.

BTW DD doesn't get flu shot.Last summer was the first time she has been sick since she was 3 years old. (Yes 3!) This is second time. She is 21 years old now.

She is doing much better today. Still has bad cough. No fever since Tues night though! She did manage to eat a little today. A lot of things do not taste good to her.

DH started feeling like crap on Saturday afternoon.

wow this is some nasty stuff.. My dh got the flu shot I don't. don't trust them. Glad to hear DD is feeling better. and hope everyone else recoups real soon.. good night and sleep tight and enjoy tomorrow suppose to be in the low 60's here tomorrow..

I didn't get the flu shot. I always get sick when I get the shot. Rather take my 50% chance that I won't get sick.

Can't take it because I'm allergic to laytex.
