Hi everyone. No games. They stopped roosting beside the house and also switched their schedule around. Smart things come in in the morning now. I came down with a flu like illness Sunday. Literay felt fine and had a 101 temp ten minutes later. To make matters worse, Lillian came down with it an hour after I did and was throwing up.

Sorry your sick Em, hope your better today, Hate to hear Lillian came down with it too, it's hard when we get it but very hard when the little one gets it too. Hope your both doing better.

My birds kept getting lice a few years ago. It was really bad. When I would think I had gotten rid of the bugs another bird would come up covered in them. I used every safe Dust I could find and then sprayed everyone and the houses with Permethrin spray. Still they came back. Finally treated everyone with Ivermectin. Using the 1% cattle injectable, I put 4-8 drops on each bird depending on the size. Place the drops on the skin at the base of the neck on their backs. Absorbtion takes a couple days to fully work, but it is less harsh on the birds system. Some give it Orally to their birds.

That completely wiped out the lice. I retreated 14 days later to catch any hatching eggs.

I used Ivermectin too and it totally took care of the mites. but I hated having to throw away the eggs so I have switched to Epernix, works the same as Ivermectin but no egg withdraw...
