to aprophet!! WELCOME!!

I think the male cochin we got at the show his right eye is blind because it is white and he runs into stuff and he wasn't able to defend himself from the other roosters when I introduced them. Also he couldn't find his way back to the coop in the rain. We had to get him out of the rain and put him and his hen in thief own private area of the barn.

Hey everyone!
We are getting ready to leave for Concord NC to visit some friends. I found a home for my brahma hen. I hate that we are getting rid of her but she is going to a good home

The other 3 are getting along great! Hey Miss Lydia if it does not work out I would be glad to take those brahma's for you

Figured I would share...my husband is from Wisconsin (and yes, he laughs at the "winters" here...if you see a guy walking around in winter with no jacket on...it just may be him). I was the daughter of a Military man (a special THANK YOU to any/all our service men/women on here & their families) so...lived in Scotland most of my life and all around. Call Ohio home because that's where most of our relatives are...that or Tennessee - but I don't know any of those relatives.

Me, I am THANKFUL for warmer weather, but not HOT/Humid weather like FL or those Gulf Coast areas!!

Gavin spoiled my surprise...but I'm STILL super excited (boy I use super too much...need another adjective...

) about getting some chickens. Hubby and I are starting our shopping this evening. I made him promise to check out the cull bin at Home Depot. He's a bit hesitant because there might be "extra" work involved. I told him to suck it up. I saw someone on the coop page get 6 pieces of 4x4x12 treated lumber for $20!! They are usually like 5-6$ a piece!! Oh the things I'm going to hunt down!!

I did have to promise that the next TWO big purchases are a truck for him (so he can run our farmette) and his garage/workshop (which is okay, because we're going to build a schoolhouse/room in the loft of the garage...so it all works out!!) I have the camera charging so be prepared for photo overload...especially since some of you are being stingy on your hatch photos!!

Haha...Ab - Sorry to hear about your "packing peanuts" issue. Maybe they mixed up your order with someone else?? Either that, or it's one whopper of a bonus??

How did I manage to spoil your suprise????? you have lost me.........

hey aprophet were you at the show in Morganton on the 5th of March or the 12th of Feb? there were alot of seramas at both shows.. My goodness olf, those chicks are beautifull and that paint silkie he is really beautifull looks like you got you a winner there..

Mostly what i was talking about when i mentioned my shed was because it's inside of the area where my coop is, but i'll still be able to close the door. so I think it will be okay.. and michaellinnc sorry to hear about your roo. do you think it was an injury? Alot of people on BYC have chickens with disablilities so hopefully he'll be okay.. and allabout I'll sure keep you in mind if it doesn't work out.. we'd just have to meet somewhere to do the transfer.. I'll let you know.. have a great weekend in Concord with family..

Well we have two pips this morning on the bantam orpingtons, on more of them to go and my three English LF orps still have to pip.

I hadn't told anyone I was getting some chicks from you, so that's why I said you "spoiled" the surprise.
