Forgot to share the conversion coop in the works! Its almost done, just needs to be wired and a door put on as of today. We hinged the roof peak so it opens to the inside from the top. I'm loving it,and I hope the bantam cochins do too!

Good evening all................

A hot humid day here just south of Charlotte..... Today's events included hardware cloth around the Buff's run......... Move the last of the Silkies from indoors to out in to the Silkie home - Chez Henry. And to transfer the Buffs into their new home. A little confused we had to manually put them all to bed. But the Firetower is perfect!! Pictures will follow tomorrow.

Hello all,

Lots to catch up on.

Congrats to to all the hatches. I had 3 of 3 eggs from my frizzle cochin pullet hatch. make 4 of 4 all together with the one from a week ago. I put them in the bator for fun and got some cuties. Will be awhile until I know of they will be frizzle. The momma is my frizzle who is broody sitting eggs due to hatch tomorrow. Really need to get batteries for the camera

I have read somewhere on BYC that avocados are not good for the chickens-- might just be the pits don't remember if the flesh is ok since I never have any of that left over

There is a gentleman in Princeton,NC--about 10 miles past I 95 on NC 70. (follow the Nahunta signs that processes livestock on a small scale.) Eddie Rowe is his name. I might still have his # somewhere as I used to get him from him a few years back. I do think you can find it on-line pretty easy.

Thanks everyone for the official day off...too bad I didn't see that until after all my yard work was done.

. I must admit being shocked to see a fawn without its momma, especially with coyote in our woods!

hope all is well in that accord - I would gladly adopt her.

. Also thank you on the heads up on the avocado didn't need to find a home for it after all as DD got her hands on it and it was gone (and it was a BIG bowl)...either she really liked it or she is telling me I am not feeding her properly

No luck finding a chicken sitter...I am praying our wonderful neighbor will check on them. I will admit to being really nervous about leaving them. Pray that my neighbor is home and is willing to peek in on them for us!! I am going to buy a few extra waterers just in case - you can't have too many of a good thing right??
