OH MY Goodness - how can you do without AC Matt.

Our unit needed some emergency service last summer - we were without for a day it was horrible. I have 2 pug dogs one my little girl was really having breathing issues and the others were not very happy ( Spoiled dogs ) ... I took them to a friends house while the AC was being fixed - Gavin and I stuck it out at home with the fans.

drink lots of water - and as we say here in the south - BLESS YOUR HEART

I know this is a chicken forum, but I thought some of you might know or can at least point me in the right direction... Took DD to the doctor's today for her 1 year check up and I'm suppose to introduce her to raw goat's milk since she is allergic to cow's milk. ANY IDEA where to find goat's milk, let alone raw? Last I checked you could not buy raw milk of any kind except for pet food!! Better yet...where can I get an organic milking goat??

Not that I really want one of those, but I suppose it would be better!

organic is just basically all natural feed, i think, that hasnt been processed and pumped full of chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, hormones etc, very hard to find, unless you have yourself at least a Nigerian dwarf (most common used for small scale dairy needs/space). try the backyard herds group on here, and self sustainable living sites and groups. if you were to buy a nanny goat, then keep her baby/s on natural wholesome to them/you forage etc. and they or theyre babies or babies babies should be totally free if you find cheap unknown or commercial goats. if im mistaken please correct, as been a while since looking this all up. alot into goats now are starting to breed pygerians, a specific cross (though youll have to do research and ask to make sure which why, whoever your talking to crossed), between the true pymy goat (as alot just call them that, but get large and have genes that carry and throw large kids, and some mini females will actually die from being bred to larger males, or males that hold large sized genes, especially if female carries also, as the kid/s could have trouble birthing from her, or even growing to large to carry.

Just FYI Raw milk is legally sold in South Carolina. They just have more inspections. I once worked for a health food store and we had a group from NC that took turns picking up raw milk. It was just a 25 mile drive but most people are not that close.

Also there is a web site that list info by state. They have several listed for NC

Hope this helps

Here are some links to local dairies that make goat cheese. Maybe you can get some milk or a goat from one of them:

Good luck!

Speaking of which I need some good vibes this way for my Hertiage RIR pullet. I tried the put o her in the coop at night method for introducing her to the pen she was to join, She was doing well this morning, but not wanting to come out. When I came home from work the 3 other girls must have trapped her in the coop and beat her up. She is inside resting but not eating or drinking yet.

Injuries seem only to be a peck spot on her head.

Let see what has been going on since I was last here visiting:

SCM Don't have anything right now that I can say is a pullet that is not spoken for right now. Maybe in a few weeks.

Bhep congrats on not bringing anything home.
