Thats good to hear. I think with this heat we could all use the rain, but I think we have been getting more than ya'll in the eastern part of the state. Hope ya'll get some good soaking tomorrow, glad to hear everyone is okay!!

We got that too! About an inch, but it all ran off... Just to pact to soak in. Babies are doing well! Wife got all scared when the first one was pecked. Having 10 babies really made it easier I think than if it had been less. Wonder if they will follow the others in to the coop? Hope y'all are having great day!

Theres bound to be some pecking because it upsets the pecking order and now they will have to reestablish it. but hopefully just minor stuff, our new ones still get picked on and they have been with the flock since hatched, just part of becoming a flock member.

We need rain or at least some wind/air off a storm. It tried to sprinkle around Noon, but that just led to more humidity. At 94 degrees we don't need more humidity.

I grew up in the Detriot area moved to NC about 7 yrs ago & started my chicken adventure about a month ago. My Mom has helped occassionally, but it's mostly my son & I being the chicken parents : )

Frankly, that's amazing! I grew up in Saginaw and moved here to NC about 10 years ago! My husband pretends indifference but secretly loves the chicks. (He is currently building them an additional coop since "the bantams need their own place".) My kids love them - but I am the primary caretaker! That is soooo cool that you are also from MI! Do you miss the snow?

Got mine at Mule City feeds in Benson. Check with a local feed mill and see if they have it or can get it for you. I soak mine at least 12 hours before feeding. They can't digest it and won't eat it unless you do. They think it is a treat.

Got my 5 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana chicks today. I hope they all aren't roos!

We got skunked again on the rain. It was all around us and just down the street and we didn't get any. My grass is crunching.
