Does anyone else here think that fertility rates go down as the year progresses? From almost perfect hatch rates earlier down to less then happy rates now, I am wondering if it is just me. Nothing has changed in my incubating proceedures, just the time of year.........

I had just mentioned to DH that our roo seems to be less interested in mounting the girls the past two weeks or so.

JL... dark brown eggs. CQ or RIR. Not sure on the BO..but I think they lay lighter colored eggs.


G&A ... Quick change in weather differently changes fertility. Some of my girls just quit laying altogether.

This week's hatch as resulted in 2 chicks so far, today is day 22, so will wait until Tuesday before I do anything elsewith the eggs in lockdown, just incase!

Have not been hatching lately so can't really say on fertility but sounds like a possiblity. ( maybe new roos in waiting would wake up the old boys

)
