I only have 6 LF hens, all about the same age as yours. As of today three are laying. Two started today!! In my bantam pen, they were almost 8 mos before they started laying. So...I guess I'm saying I wouldn't worry yet. It's getting late in the year, when they start slowing down on egg production. It could be spring - I hope not for you! But, it's possible. I've read on here where some people's birds reached laying age in the fall or winter and just didn't lay until spring. Hopefully your won't make you wait that long!!!

I saw it this morning too! Awesome and missed sight for sore eyes. Then it thunder stormed tonight. Bummer. I'd help you if I could. For leg mites I've treated with Vaseline though Ive heard that you can use spray Pam too?? Never tried it, but the Vaseline worked. Not sure if those were the type of mites you meant though...

I think its scaley leg mites! What's worrying me is the cost of Tylan!
Thanks now I just gotta grow two more arms so I can hold them down and smear it on their legs!

So far I haven't had to buy medication, but I totally understand being strapped for money. I'm a state employee Nd still can't get used to only being paid once a month. I think I am actually just a holding point for my money. I just get to wave at it as it passes by on it's way to pay off all the bills! Good luck, and again, if I was closer I'd definitely help!!

Oh man! I hope they don't make me wait that long! I will be devastated! I was really looking forward to being able to cross eggs off the grocery list for good
