Hi all the new people!!!
welcome-byc.gif
We're glad to have you!

Just an update here... everyone seems to be doing great since I started treatment for the cocci. No more casualties and the girls are being SPOILED rotten with treats, and I even got them a 'forage cake' to peck at as a treat. Everyone seems happy. They have just realized that 'king' of the pecking order is gone and they all get to move up, so had some squabbling over the perch position the other night. Other then that, my heart can finally rest a bit and I can get back to work.

Wow! Sounds like everyone is having a great day!

G&A: Congratulations on getting testing done!! Love the pics! I hope the last three hatch fine too!

HT I'll take the Silkie one in the bottom pic!! One of my girls laid an egg like that first one. Turned out to be a double yolker!! I bet your kids really enjoyed the balloon. I know mine would have!

Vfem: I'm glad everyone is healthy again!

Beth: pretty birds!!

my excitement for today wasjob related. My principal wanted to know if I'd switch classes with my friend who is out on extended maternity leave. I agreed. However due to certification issues it won't work since she isn't certified in multiple areas like me she can't be listed as a teacher of those classes. So now, I have NO IDEA what I'm teaching when I go into school on Mon!! Who knew teaching could be so exciting!

So...went for a walk tonight with my hubby (

) and DD. We walked down to the road and met with the farmer's wife to buy some pumpkins....to make pumpkin pie!!
big_smile.png
She refused to let us pay her for them (aren't they wonderful?!?)....so tomorrow...I think I am going to be baking a thank you pie!!

I hope they like Cherry especially since I'll still be working on the pumpkin!!

We also had chickens TRYING to follow us down the road!! Thankfully they stopped once we were past the trees!! Guess they are afraid (

Side note, Green - what does BBS stand for??

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Here are some pics of my D'Uccles babies I hatched five weeks ago with my broody mama and the chick I hatched in my tankbator during Irene. They are obviously getting really friendly!

Here's my current broody mama. She is so sweet - at least to us. Not so much to her encroaching fellow hens though!

I so want to add some frizzled chickens to our flock! They are so neat looking!

I have a bunch BBS frizzle cochin chicks for sale.

Tempting...are they LF? How old are they? Do you have any pictures of them? I really doubt we add more to our little flock at this moment (maybe I could get DH interested if he saw them though!). I am really thinking about trying to hatch some eggs this spring. I really think my kids will get a kick out of hatching their own chicks.
