Ramirez, coincidently, we had to cull him. Not because of the cross beak, but because we brought home a new pair from an auction that seemed to have something they passed on to him. We didn't want everyone else to get it and the pair we brought home died pretty quickly. We had a hard time with it, because we were all pretty attached to Brown Chicken.

Thanks for asking, though.

vfem, great job at the fair!!

I took the day off yesterday since I had to suffer through CE classes all weekend and we went to the fair. I picked up this fancy lady:

Basically what I said is that I would love to buy some of your silver laced cochin eggs. Are they standard or bantam? And pm me with how much per doz... also pm me with whereabouts you are so I know how far I need to go...

Thanks so much for the message!!!

(I am a little broke at the moment so it may be the last weekend of this month before I can actually buy any though)

Pretty! I keep wanting to come across some Delaware hens, but am a little nervous since the last pair I picked up at Wicked Chicken was sick and died within 2 weeks..We couldn't tell until we got them home and put in a pen. Almost all of my chickens have come from there, though, so i will still go and just be more cautious...Do you go every Sunday?

Ooooh... she's a looker! Daughter saw some polish she wanted... I laid down the law though. No more chickens! (until daddy fixes the coop and they'll we'll get LOTS more! HAHAHA)

I thought so, too!

I have not encountered mites before, but noticed on the way home yesterday. I cannot see any live bugs crawling on her-I soaked her feet in oil yesterday anyhow, though. I don't have access to internet at home but seemed to remember that rememdy from this site.

Should I see bugs moving? Will the legs look better once treated or will they stay that way?

you will have to retreat in a few days for about two weeks, the legs will look better after some time. you can use oil, vasiline or dishsoap. I love my polish. But outta all my birds they are the first to have mites if not the only ones, when I have a mite problem
