Morning all

Quick Hello.....and I am off to the Falcon Children's home for their annual Harvest Train. Our church ladies & gents baked cakes and collected toiletries for the children there. They have a parade, the children preform a play and a lunch. This is my 2nd year going. Both my daughters have field trips today, so won't go this year. My new addition has to go to school as he has missed too many days. So it will be me & my son.

They can look really bad doing molt, are you giving them extra protein? also Nutri Drench is great for such a time as molt.

they are getting 17% protein feed, am also giving them scratch and BOSS, and they will have the Thanksgiving turkey carcass to chew over. Also making them up some fat balls with cratch/feed mixed in for them to eat..... I may go on to the 20% protein until the molt is finished.

NewHomsteader, now that I know you are so close to my house, especially, PLEASE don't hesitate to let me know if you need help with anything! I was on bed rest the last several months of my pregnancy and that was WITHOUT a toddler running around. I know how difficult it is! Even if you just want company or to stop by and visit us or for a play date..I'm here!

BHEP, do you have any idea how long your newcomer will be with you?

Just back from the Falcon's Children Annual Harvest Train. Over $340,000.00 was raised in money & commodities for the children in foster care there.

All is well on the home front. Kids get along great and everyone is polite & respectful.

Thanks for asking..... No time frame has been giving, for the sake of the child, I would hope not too long.

G&A.... I have some bird in the same sorry state as yours, looks like someone plucked them.

And a little mud & muck.

My barnyard is a MESS. I have young birds running around that look like I have rolled them in mud. They are just filthy !!!! I would be embarrassed to show anyone them.

A couple of weeks ago when some of mine were getting over the big molt they looked like porqupines it was so funny. Just be very careful that they get the best protein last year i lost a hen when she was going through molt, I think she just got so run down and didn't notice her until too late. Very sad.
