A quick hello

Been busy, coops almost done. I have to go pick up the doors today and with any luck they will be done today.

Then it is decision time..... I will be selling some of my chickens. Hard choice, some many beautiful birds.

BHep - Can't wait to see photos of the finished product! Good luck deciding who goes/stays, I am sure that's going to be a challenge!!

Susan Update: no change for the better or worse. Wasn't feeling too well last night, and DH wasn't about to catch & bathe a chicken by himself, so we will try again today. I have another batch of yogurt/flax seed/oatmeal to cook up and maybe this time I will mix in a little egg for an added protein boost...starting to wonder if she will ever feel better!!

I just don't know what to do at this point, aside from give her another bath and hope that whatever it is, it passes!!

I am still waiting for TSC to get in a supply of safeguard...guess I could order it online if I knew what exactly it was that I was ordering!! LOL. Any suggestions/help there??

I think I am going to take today, take DD and head off to the library!! It would be our first trip since she was a baby!! Either that, or I am going to make some more chocolate chip pound cake, as DH ate almost the entire loaf last night. Guess it was a hit!

well my mom has a horse that when the weather changes alot, she likes to colic (upset tummy). Maybe Susan is doing the same. Or not wanting to give up the goodies and extra love she's getting?

Well...I just gave the chickens a form of green crack...lol they all rushed to the oatmeal & such. I made a concoction of organic kelp powder, oatmeal, yogurt and flax seed!! You would have thought it was crack the way they all were fighting over it!! LOL

Hoping it works and they do well from it!!

RF - I like that idea...she's just moody and being colicky!! I'll keep hoping that that's all it is!!

Hi all! Haven't been around much but I've been trying to keep up with you all! Just busy, extra sleep deprived and my hubby has been out of town. But hope you're all doing well! Wild - prayers coming your way big time!

Chicken question - my Welsummer, Willow has always layed a pretty ugly spotty egg. But lately it is getting uglier and uglier! Is that a sign of anything I should be concerned about???
Chick Update - They will be 5 weeks old tomorrow!!!

And greene - my beautiful Cochin from you, Rosalie, is mama #2 to them! When they're not under Esme's feet they run to her for safety!!!

So sweet!
NH - I hope you're staying off your feet and the baby is doing alright in there! You hang in there.

SCM, they have gotten SO BIG! Silkies are just the cutest funniest little things.

You said your Wellie is laying ugly spotty eggs? Is it the color or the shell that you are concerned about? Like is the egg deformed, or are you more concerned about color spots on the egg shell?

Wanted to Thank You All again for your prayers! Maddy had her first round of chemo yesterday, she felt pretty awful afterwards, but today she was outside play with her dog. We are all very upset but suprised by the cancer. Maddy's bones broke very easy and infact recently she broke her leg while skipping!!. The doctors informed us that she will be getting a bone marrow transplant next month, and every 3 months after that. Luckily Maddy is O-negative so it won't be to hard find a match! The doctors are optomistic.

SCM- I don't know about the ugly egg, maybe post a pic, so we can see what makes it ugly? But one thing that isn't ugly is that chick SO CUTE

Beth- so jealous can't wait to see some pics!
