Good Morning Everyone...I thought I would share and say I am UP to 13 and haven't gone down in numbers yet. A perfect baker's dozen, so I guess I should call it quits for now. Until I get ducks, right??

The only incubating going on around here is the one I am carrying...glad to know that there is no machine in the house or in the shed, or else I am SURE we would be over-run!!

Off to play practice this morning, so I hope everyone has a great day!!

ETA: Quick question regarding Susan (who is still hanging in there)...could she be going broody?? She has been sleeping and "hanging out" in the nesting box lately, especially yesterday - and stopped laying eggs a while back when her tail was down. Her tail is still down, but she is usually up on the nesting box with the lower boys and girls, but yesterday and last night she was curled up in the nesting box. Just thought maybe she was wanting to brood and has no eggs to brood?

Just curious as if that could be a possibility since I really am out of ideas as to what is troubling her!! Thanks!!

I would guess she is just not feeling well.

Hope she perks up soon. IF the problem was worms....between the worms and the treatment, it is pretty rough on them. Thus the probiotics. Add in the fact that they are in molting season. Poor girl.

she bounces back quickly !

So yesterday my youngest DD saw one of our Guineas get hit by a car. Grazed really. DD ran out and scooped her up, Guinea was stunned. Her eye is a little swollen and she has a tiny scrape on her head. I checked her over and let her back with her flock. No point even trying to isolate a Guinea, they are crazed animals. She would have killed herself trying to get back with her flock. She is still slow this am, still up in the barn rafters. I will keep checking on her. I hope this teaches those dumb birds to stay out of the road. I have over 8 acres.... why do they need to be up front.

Good morning all. A busy week at work, had an egg almost 3 inches long from one of my Buff's and look forward to when they all start laying again. It's funny how they have all stopped laying at the same time, even the silkies.....

Brahma's are getting big, have 6 chicks hatched since Friday last week, got 6 still in lockdown, another 14 to go in to lockdown on Monday, 4 on Thursday, then my 8 Partridge Silkie eggs to go in to lockdown on 12/25!!

Then I am egg collecting Christmas week for my neighbor who will be away for the week......... Incubate or eat?? That is the question.... lol

Are you still using the Nutri Drench in her water? Also might try some mashed up peas along with yogurt, my chickens and ducks love peas.
