x2...we now have 10 possible layers and I am getting 3 eggs!! That's down from 7 a day...what is wrong with this picture?? Although I do think that Belle just laid her first egg today because it was a deep chocolate egg, but it was smaller than a bantam egg...yesterday her waddles and comb were bright BRIGHT red!! Still, no eggs for us until January (that's assuming they start laying again). Nothing to report on Susan...she's still down but not out. She was frolicking, so I am going to hold onto hope that she is on the up and up!! (okay, no more cliches!!) Since mine were doing okay until G&A said something...I blame him!!

BHep - and just HOW many hens do you think I NEED?? Hmm...I have 10, isn't that enough?? Of course, I'd never complain if I was lucky enough to get one of HT's English Orps....or more big fluffy butts - because they're SO cute!!

Your hatch is adorable too!

Most of the girls are now laying so going to be a busy season for me.

Tricia,

I wish I could get my egg layers to start laying again sometime soon!!

Try giving them some Calfmana, really helps with molting.

Fluff is a BIG issue, you very well may have to trim down the road, but give him some time as they are just starting out, he may not have it quit right yet.
