I wish you weren't so far away. I would like to add some EE layers to this layers this spring. I only have 1 green egg layer and 3 blue egg layers left and they are all going to be 4 this year. Seems I will be stuck buying chicks or eggs and waiting till late summer or fall for eggs.

Hmmmmm.........very tempting. Might make a good addition to our EE/Ameraucanas. Would not be able to come get them til the weekend so....................
I have been busy and my mom has had a lot of health issues
Anywho, I have been helping our local Animal Control and I am reaching out to my fellow BYC friends hoping to find someone that can help this dog. I know it is a long shot but I have to try!!! The information below was given to me, I have not seen him in person yet. I plan on seeing him tomorrow, so I will be able to give more info on him.
He is a Lab mix named Alex. He needs to be in a home where he is the only pet. He does not like other dogs or cats. He is a really sweet dog and loves humans. He loves women but is a little slow to trust men, but comes around
. He loves kids!!! The other issue is that he is protective of his people.
As I said I will see how bad he really is tomorrow. He may not be anywhere as bad as they say. His adoption fee has already been paid. He will have all his vaccinations and spayed/neutered, a mini photo session with Andrea Richards, a 10 minutes chair massage at Sophisticut ( for you ) and a day in the spa for your pet at Smoky Mountain Pets.
Glad I get a little BYC time in before the change over. I will be suffering from withdrawals today while the computer geniuses do their magic.
Like I said before, I have taken a peek of the new platform, it is similar so don't worry about finding everything. Just log on find the forum tab on top and then it looks the same as now.
Matt... HT has some EEs now.
I hatched some from her that are cute little fluff balls.
Good morning everyone!! I think today is the launch of the new BYC, so we should see how it goes in a little bit.
Excited to see the new changes (unless they've already happened and I didn't notice!!) Today is a rough day for me... DD is officially 18 months old today -
WHERE did the time go? I have 12 weeks left in my pregnancy and the aches and pains have finally started (oh joy). Rough day!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and makes it through the transition!! No chicken news to report...except I am getting 2 eggs from my new girls faithfully (now I just jinxed myself, didn't I??) The other girls are laying sporadically so we will see what happens.
Miss Lydia - if you need someone to hold your hand, my DD is really CUTE (I know, I'm biased) and loves holding hands. She also loves chickens and almost any farm animal (no dogs though...she's terrified) so she will sit for hours just pointing them all out to you. Quite therapeutic if you need her to assist you through this transition!
Ally - What a cute flock. That head "rooster" is sure cute, but I don't see him pestering anyone...where are the fun photos of your little man chasing them??
He must be better than my girl...she just wants to love on them all and they see her coming and if she doesn't have a treat, they RUN!!
Chicken Question: Is there anything I can do to help "protect" one of my girls? Jemimah (BO) is the favorite of ALL the boys and her poor back/feathers look just a mess. I know for a fact that if any of the non-dominant boys "visit" her, she lays down by Jeremy and waits for him to do the same. (Weird girl). I just don't want her feathers to start falling out around her "saddle" area (I think that's what it's called). Has anyone had any luck altering behavior or favoritism?? Do I need to even bother?? Just curious. Thanks everyone!
Thanks for offering your dd hand, I might take you up on it.
AllAbout, what a precious dog, I have 4 so I am not a candidate, but hope ya'll can find him a forever home. and happy to see you back, hope your mom is feeling better. We missed you.
Hope to see you all on the other side, and {I mean that both ways}

Coop, if your interested in them, there is no rush to rehome them 'right now'
They have a decent sized tractor they are kept in...If you want I can try to swing by there today or tomorrow and get pictures of them...
PM me, if you want to try to work out pick up or meet up. Cheryl my friend doesn't mind keeping them until she finds them a good home, but shes sure they'll do better in a flock that someone has the time to introduce them etc...Her layers are her dear pets, and she wants everyone to be happy and healthy. They are well taken care of and spoiled birds
